Where life is slow
THE HOUSE, THE POOL AND THE VILLAGE
Welcome!
SPACIOUS, LIGHT-FILLED, COMFORTABLE
This house is designed for relaxation. Simple and spacious, with soaring ceilings and lots of natural light, it is positioned to make the most of those wonderful views out over the village and foothills. The house is two-storey with two double bedroom (with French doors opening onto the balcony terrace) and one twin bedroom upstairs, and a big open plan living area and kitchen downstairs. There are two bathrooms - one upstairs and one downstairs. There is a simple but well equipped kitchen, a washing machine and standing fan in each room. We also love the red leather vintage sofas we found in a shop in Veliko Tarnovo - which are ridiculously comfy.
THEÂ POOL AND GARDEN
We spent a long time deciding on this pool, and it is pretty much perfect. Ideally positioned to take in the valley views while offering complete privacy and seclusion, this is the best pool in the area! There is also a big garden with hammock, Â hanging chair, Weber BBQ, outdoor furniture and pool accessories.
LOCAL LIVING
The modern world forgot Merdanya. And a good thing too, because here you slow down to the rhythm of goat bells and your days are governed by deciding which delicious local produce you will prepare for the next meal. In between dozing and swimming, that is. There are two local shops which have a great range of local food basics - cheeses, eggs, seasonal fruit and veg, bread, beer and wine etc - plus a couple of cafes and a new restaurant. There's a fish seller, a post office, a very useful hardware shop and a ceramics place.
